Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Bounkong Syhavong expressed his gratitude for this donation and thanked the Ministry of energy and mines as well as the private companies for their generosity and precious contribution to the resources of the Khammouane provincial hospital. He further mentioned that the 3 dialysis machines will be added to the existing 2 machines currently equipped at the hospital, which will greatly increase the capacity to admit ill patients.

An official handover ceremony will be held at the Khammouane provincial hospital once the equipment has been installed.

Dialysis machines are used to filter blood in order to remove excess water and waste products in the kidneys when they are damaged, dysfunctional, or missing.
