On 25 June 2026, a delegation from Nam Theun 2 visited the Nam Ngum 1 Hydropower Plant for a technical exchange on hydropower operations. The team was warmly welcomed by the management of EDL-Gen and Nam Ngum 1 Hydropower Plant.
During the visit, the delegation toured both the original powerhouse and the expanded powerhouse, while exchanging knowledge and best practices in three key areas:
- Employee and contractor safety management
- Water safety management
- Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and coordination with local communities
The visit provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen collaboration, share operational experience, and promote best practices between Nam Theun 2 and Nam Ngum 1. Through knowledge sharing, both organizations continue to enhance safety standards, improve operational performance, and support the sustainable development of the hydropower sector in Lao PDR.
