A kick off meeting for the Gnommalath Long-Term Scholarship program took place on the morning of April 28, 2025, in RNT meeting room No.4. The meeting was participated in by representatives from Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR), HR, Nam Theun 2 school director and teacher, and the Gnommalath District education office. The primary objectives of the meeting were to introduce the scholarship’s implementation plan and foster a clear understanding of the GML scholarship program among participants.

The “Education Pillar” is one of NTPC’s sustainability development goals. The Gnommalath Long Term Scholarship program initiative is designed to provide financial assistance to underprivileged individuals from the local community who graduated from NT2 school, enabling them to pursue higher education, technical skills training, or vocational programs. The scholarship aims to empower local people by enhancing their knowledge, skills, and opportunities, contributing to their personal growth and improving the community.

NTPC will provide specific support as:

1. Support dormitory and study fee (annually).

2. Support Food allowance (monthly).

3. Support insurance (annually).

The implementation team are agree with step of implementaion plan of activity

– In the afternoon of the same day, the implementation team (between CSR, HR, NT2 school director and teacher, and GML District education office) held a meeting to dissemination of the background, goals of the Gnommalath Long Term Scholarship Program, the criteria for receiving the scholarship, as well as the introduction of major guiding subject and Nam Theun 2 will provide and support grantee.

– There are 19 students, 8 females from grades 4-7, the students are living in the surrounding villages of RNT and study in Nam Theun 2 School. In the afternoon, the project implementation team (CSR, HR, NT2 teacher and District Education Office) organized awareness campaign to present and disseminate the Gnommalath Long Term Scholarship program information, objectives, criteria of eligible student, and major guidance to the local students surround villages from NT2 school, a total of 19 students(8woment) participated from M4-M7.
