On the 14th and 21st of May 2023, Nam Theun 2 volunteers, with the support of Nam Theun 2 and EDF Group Foundation, invited their colleagues, families, friends, contractors, and also representatives from various government offices.
The Walk for Clean Water campaign aims to provide funds to construct a clean water facility for the Maka village located in the Nakai-Nam Theun National Park, in Nakai District, Khammouane Province.
A total of more than 50 million kips were raised during this activity, half of which was donated by Nam Theun 2.
World Vision and the EDF Foundation have organized the “Global 6KM for Water” in 30 countries: solidarity walks to raise funds and finance the construction of water access facilities.
Why 6km? Nearly one billion human beings must travel six kilometers per day (on average) to draw their water from a well or a river.
