3500 Days Without LTI eCard FINAL

Vientiane, Lao PDR, 27 August 2026 – Nam Theun 2 Power Company Limited is proud to announce the achievement of 3,500 consecutive days without a Lost Time Injury (LTI), marking nearly ten years of safe operations across its hydroelectric facilities and workplaces. This milestone reflects the company’s unwavering commitment to safety and the collective efforts of its employees and contractor partners.

The achievement, reached on 27 August 2026, is the result of a strong safety culture built on risk awareness, adherence to procedures, continuous vigilance, and the shared responsibility of looking after one another. Nam Theun2’s workforce, contractors, and partners have consistently demonstrated safe work practices across power generation facilities, dam infrastructure, transmission systems, offices, and field operations.

“This achievement is not the result of luck,” said Nam Theun 2 Chief Executive Officer Mr Marc-Antoine Rupp. “It reflects thousands of daily decisions made by our employees and contractors to identify risks, follow procedures, speak up about unsafe conditions, and prioritize safety in every aspect of their work.”

While celebrating this important milestone, Nam Theun 2 emphasizes that safety remains an ongoing journey rather than a destination. The company continues to reinforce its Life Saving Rules, encourage the reporting and learning of near-miss incidents, and promote a workplace culture where unsafe behaviors and shortcuts are never accepted. These efforts are particularly important as operations continue through the challenging wet season conditions.

For Nam Theun 2, success is measured not only by operational performance but by ensuring that every employee and contractor returns home safely to their family at the end of each day. This principle remains at the heart of the company’s health, safety, and operational practices.

Over the years, Nam Theun 2 has maintained a strong focus on safety management, continuous improvement, and employee engagement. The company’s safety culture is founded on personal responsibility, leadership commitment, and collaboration among all members of its workforce.

As Nam Theun 2 celebrates this achievement, the company renews its commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards and fostering an environment where everyone takes responsibility for their own safety and the safety of their colleagues.

Nam Theun 2 is expected to double down on its commitment to safety during its upcoming annual “Safety Day”
