NTPC conducts comprehensive biological monitoring of the NT2 lacustrine and riverine ecosystems through various trophic levels and biological groups: terrestrial biodiversity including elephants, Swamp Cypress and invasive species as well as aquatic groups such as   plankton, aquatic invertebrates and fish.

A long-term experimental fish population monitoring provides trends in fish biomass, densities and species. These data were completed by a fish catch monitoring to assess the fish resources and their use by local households. All these data were used as valuable information to strengthen the fish resource management.
