{"id":9020,"date":"2024-08-27T13:45:08","date_gmt":"2024-08-27T06:45:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.namtheun2.com\/?p=9020"},"modified":"2024-09-05T10:30:21","modified_gmt":"2024-09-05T03:30:21","slug":"nam-theun-2-development-fund-set-to-expand-across-multiple-districts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.namtheun2.com\/lao\/nam-theun-2-development-fund-set-to-expand-across-multiple-districts\/","title":{"rendered":"Nam Theun 2 Development Fund Set to Expand Across Multiple Districts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On August 27, 2024, in Nakai District, Khammouane Province, the Khammouane Provincial Authorities, in collaboration with the Nam Theun 2 Power Company, hosted the eighth steering committee meeting for the Nam Theun 2 Development Fund (NT2DF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting was co-chaired by Khammouane Governor Mr. Vanxay Phonsavanh and Nam Theun 2 Chief Executive Officer Mr. Marc-Antoine Rupp, with 44 participants in attendance, including members of the NT2DF Steering Committee and Secretariat team, relevant Nakai District offices, and three village chiefs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting acknowledged the ongoing commitment to NT2DF\u2019s progress over the past six months, highlighting achievements in several key areas, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the approval of an additional budget of LAK 41,079,000 for the prevention and vaccination project aimed at combating domestic animal diseases.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the authorization of the selection process and related expenses for awarding 25 long-term scholarships to students across the entire Nakai District, pending the finalization and signing of the NT2DF Cooperation Agreement Phase II and Operation Manual<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and the handover of equipment and vaccines to the Agriculture and Forestry Office of Nakai District (DAFO) under the domestic animal disease prevention and vaccination project in 16 hamlets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/spark.namtheun2.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/MG_6917-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8939\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The preliminary goal of the NT2DF was to enhance the livelihoods of the 16 newly formed villages in Nakai.
